Rev. Concepción (Connie) Ortega joined Adviento in 2016. Pastor Connie serves as the pastor of Misión Adviento, where faith, family, and comunidad come together in worship and service. Originally from Nicaragua, Pastor Connie has lived in California, New Mexico, and now Texas, where she is surrounded by extended family and a vibrant faith community.
She holds a BA in Spanish Language, Culture, and Civilization from Cal State University San Bernardino and a Master's in Education from Concordia University-Portland. A graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, Pastor Connie is passionate about creating spaces of welcome, empowerment, and spiritual growth.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Pastor Connie is a full-time teacher at a local junior high school and loves her students profundamente, believing in the power of education to uplift and transform lives.
As a proud parent to Josephine, Matthew, and Jacob, and a joyful grandparent to Caleb and Christian, Pastor Connie lives out a ministry shaped by deep family ties and enduring legacy of her mother, whose faith and resilience continue to inspire every step of her journey.
