Our Vision & Strategies
Advent’s Vision: To Live and Love Like Jesus
Through congregation-wide Bible study of the Book of Acts, prayer and conversation, the Spirit is leading us to a renewed sense of vision and purpose for our ministry. We hear the call and are intentionally prioritizing our ministry to reflect more mission than maintenance… though both are needed for ministry to thrive. Through the study, prayer and conversation of the Book of Acts, we also discerned Guiding Principles for our ministry:Advent’s Biblical Guiding Principles:

1. Jesus is Lord (Acts 2:36, 10:36)
2. God transforms lives (Acts 2:37-38, 41-47)
3. Everyone is welcome (Acts 2:39, 10:34; 15:4, 8-11)
4. The Holy Spirit works within us (Acts 10:44-46)
5. Trust in God (Acts 16:10, 25)
Advent’s leadership is working towards a strategic plan which will consider community and congregation dynamics (being aware of the God-given gifts of both to each other) and vis-a-vis the Vision and Biblical Guiding Principles, we will be discerning Spirit-led strategies for our ministry.
