Pastor Erik was born and raised in Redding, CA.  He did his undergraduate studies at Simpson University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry and Theology. After

serving for two years as a youth Pastor at St. James Lutheran Church in Redding, Erik felt

God’s call to become an fully rostered ELCA Pastor. He chose to follow in the footsteps of his

grandfather and attend Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. Erik completed his seminary studies and received his Master of Divinity degree in 2019. He is currently studying for his PhD in Ministry at Duke Divinity School.  Erik previously served as senior pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Covina, California before joining Advent.
